Ken Kernen, Founder/CEO
Ken has been married to co-founder Susan for 45 years, they have 3 sons and 3 granddaughters. Ken was a Procurement Specialist for Quad Graphics until his retirement in 2022. He first went to Kenya in 2012, returned in 2014 with Susan and started this foundation upon their return. Since then, Ken's focus to help children wherever and however the foundation can is one of the driving forces behind our mission and vision.
Susan Kernen, Co-Founder
Amy Polacek
Amy is a retired teacher having taught first grade for 32 years. She volunteers at the school where she taught at least once a week. She also volunteers at a local food cupboard where she purchases and organizes stock items, helps with distribution, and inputs data. She finds fulfillment in helping others in her community, especially children.
Don Dorsan, Treasurer
Don has been married to his wife, Pauline, for nearly 46 years. They live in Franklin, Wisconsin, where they enjoy spending time with their two granddaughters.
After retiring as a Purchasing Manager in the Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) division of a major global printing company, Don founded Pointe Association Management, a condominium management company that he recently sold to fully enjoy retirement.
A lifelong believer in giving back, Don has served as a Franklin Alderman and on numerous community boards and commissions. He is also one of the founding board members of Caring Christians Four Kids. Don says his favorite part of the organization is seeing fundraising efforts directly benefit children both locally and around the world. He is honored to continue serving an organization dedicated to making a lasting difference in the lives of children.
